Centre for the Development of Sustainable Society (CRTD)

The Centre, known as CRTD, is a pioneering cooperative initiative based in Pomurje, Slovenia. It is a nexus for major food producers and processors in the region, fostering sustainable production and distribution practices. The Centre stands out for establishing the first zero-waste store without plastic packaging in Pomurje and plays a crucial role in bridging the gap between food producers and consumers, while simultaneously gathering consumer feedback and promoting sustainable food handling along the value chain from fork to table.

CRTD’s comprehensive approach in promoting sustainable practices, fostering local collaborations, and its active participation in significant projects, demonstrates its commitment to developing a sustainable society.

 

Key Projects and References:

      • In2Local (Interreg Slovenia–Hungary): As a project partner, CRTD has been instrumental in creating a supportive environment for integrating circular economy principles in local food production in the cross-border area of Pomurje (Slovenia) and Vas County (Hungary).

      • TERA (Norway Grants): As a project partner, CRTD is working on developing integrated systems for balancing professional and private life in rural areas.

      • Development of Services along Tourist Routes (LAG Goričko, CLLD): As a project partner, CRTD promotes high-quality, organic, and locally sourced products without plastic packaging, advocating for sustainable lifestyles.

      • RE-START EUROPE (Erasmus+ Youth in Action): CRTD’s involvement as a stakeholder includes conducting workshops focusing on developing the zero waste store concept.

      • PONI Pomurje (ESDF): CRTD has contributed to the development of the entrepreneurial concept of a zero waste store and conducted Creative Approaches in Entrepreneurship workshops.

      • Cities2030 (Horizon2020): CRTD, as a stakeholder, has showcased the importance of short supply chains in sustainability.

      • GreenReg (Interreg Slovenia–Hungary): As a stakeholder, CRTD helped develop sustainable practices and endorse zero waste principles in local communities, supporting local consumption.

      • OkvirPomoči (NLB d.d.): CRTD’s NašaBauta project ranked among the top 10 in a competition for innovative visions towards a greener future.
